What is a General Workout class or package? 

A General Workout refers to a number of our classes that all appear under the same price bracket.  You can buy a 5 or 10 class pass and use it for any combination of classes in this category, you are not restricted to just one class type.  Classes include;

•TRX Pilates
•Yoga
•Mat Pilates
•Classical Pilates
•Spin+
•Fatburn Extreme
•Spin to Video
•Circuit training (drop in sessions)

Why are Allegro and Yin Yoga classes sold separately?
Our Allegro Pilates classes, including Allegro Essentials and Allegro Challenge are NOT included in our general workout package.  These are highly specialist classes, taught by instructors who have many years experience and continue to advance their education still through continuous training; with knowledge including rehabilitation, pre/post natal, sports injury evasion.  Classes are smaller and more personal.

Yin Yoga classes run for 90 minutes as requested by a number of our clients.  All classes in our General Workout Package are 60 mins only.

Do I need to pay in advance?
To self manage your online account and book into classes through our website you must pay in advance. 

If you have booked via telephone, email, or in person, you may book without paying in advance.  However, please note that in the event of a full class, any client who has not already paid will be wait-listed and priority given to those who have pre-paid.

Why can't I book into a DBRC class?
We host a number of classes outside of our main studio at Discovery Bay Recreation Centre.  To attend these classes you must be a member of DBRC and book directly with them by calling 2987 7381.

What is your cancellation policy
Classes or appointments cancelled with MORE THAN 12 hours notice will not be charged for.  If a package was used to book the class, it will automatically be added back into your package.  If a single class was paid for, your account will be credited with the value of the single class.

Classes or appointments cancelled with LESS THAN 12 hours notice, prior to the class starting, will still be charged.  No refund or reimbursement will be offered in this instance unless proof can be provided for extenuating circumstances (e.g. doctors note)

Do you charge a credit card fee?
5% handling fees apply to all credit card purchases.

What do I need to bring with me?

Where possible, arrive 5 mins early for your class to avoid delays. Bring a bottle of water and wear something comfortable and suited to your class (note, some classes such as Allegro or Spinning are not suited to baggy clothing due to safety with working mechanisms). For Pilates or Yoga you may wish to wear socks with gripped soles for hygiene, for all other classes you must wear suitable exercise training shoes. We have plenty of Pilates and Yoga mats in the studio however you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Do you hire out your studio space?

Yes we do. Prices vary on time of day and week and upon how long you wish to hire the space for. Please contact us directly, stating your desired times and days, what you wish to use the space for and whether you wish to have a recurring booking or just a one off. What type of personal training should I book?

Before booking or purchasing a personal or semi private training session, please contact us to arrange an initial consultation and to discuss your needs. We have a number of trainers with differing specialities and varying availability. Once you have discussed with us, you will be told which option to book in the future. How does circuit training differ from your other classes?
Our circuit training sessions are not a traditional group class. you can drop in at any time within the designated hours to complete the circuit.  We recommend warming up, making two laps of the circuit then stretching which takes about an hour, so please ensure you arrive with enough time to complete (newcomers may wish to start with one lap). Our trainer will be on hand to show you how to correctly use all the equipment and maximize your workout.  Circuit training is a type of training system whereby the participant spends one minute on each piece of equipment with minimum or no rest in between.  Here at MI we have 8 toning stations with cardio exercise between each.

Are your classes suitable for beginners?
Most of our classes are suitable for beginners.  Our trainers are all fully qualified and experienced and are able to adjust most classes to work around injuries, ailments or simplify for first-timers.  Classes that are not suitable for beginners include; Classical Mat Pilates, Classical Allegro, Yin Yoga (90 mins), Allegro Challenge.  If you have an individual concerns please contact us.

Do you offer classes for more advanced persons?
Yes! Our Allegro challenge and Classical Pilates or Classical Allegro classes are all designed for the more experienced Pilates attendee. We strongly advise you only attend these classes if you have already attended a number of our Allegro Essentials or Mat Pilates classes and have spoken with your instructor about your wish to progress.  

A number of our classes can be made more challenging through minor adjustments, such as increased resistance, speed, incline or support.  Our trainers are all fully qualified and experienced and where possible can provide options to make classes easier or more challenging.
